About the Author
Neil Bauman, Ph.D. is a hearing loss coping skills specialist, researcher, author and speaker on issues pertaining to hearing loss. He has written eight books and numerous articles on kindred subjects. "Ototoxic Drugs Exposed," is the culmination of four years of his research into the nearly one thousand drugs and chemicals that can (and do) damage ears. No stranger to hearing loss himself, Dr. Bauman has lived with a life-long severe hereditary hearing loss. In spite of his hearing loss, he earned several degrees in various fields including ancient history/astronomy (Ph.D.) and theology (Th.D.). During the past decade he has helped thousands of hard-of-hearing people understand and cope with their hearing losses. He provides education, support and counsel to hard-of-hearing people through his books, seminars and personal contact. He is the Executive Director of the Center for Hearing Loss Help. In addition, Dr. Bauman is vice-chair of the Governor's Advisory Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Pennsylvania. He is an active member of Self Help for Hard of Hearing People (SHHH), the national organization for people with hearing loss in the USA, and a member of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association.
