About the Author
When the author, Esly vandeWeerdt, moved to America with her family in 1968, she brought with her all of the wonderful traditions she enjoyed as a child growing up in Indonesian. Nowhere is this better represented than in her own kitchen. All of her children are grown now and have families of their own. But, it is her kitchen that will always be their home. It is where holiday memories are created. It is where her family instinctively gathers-pitching in and catching up. laughing and joking. It is the very fabric that holds her family so close.
Publisher notes: This book truly represents Esly's love for food, her talents as a cook and her respect for tradition. But, moreover, this book is her legacy. A monument to her commitment for the preservation of family.
